More children than ever before are using the internet and social media. Navigating your way through online safety can be tricky for all ages. Developing children's ability and increasing their knowledge of how to use the internet safely is an important part of safeguarding all children.
There are a number of links below to helpful websites and documents that aim to help to support children in using the internet safely. There is a link to 'Ditto' which is a free online safety newsletter that you can subscribe to.

CEOP (The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre) is often it is referred to as an online 999. By clicking on the button, young people and parents can get advice on a range of issues such as viruses, hacking and dealing with bullying online.
Cyber Choices
The Cyber Choices programme was created to help people make informed choices and to use their cyber skills in a legal way.
This is a national programme co-ordinated by the National Crime Agency and delivered by Cyber Choices teams within Regional Organised Crime Units and Local Police Force Cyber Teams.
The aims of the programme are:
- Explaining the difference between legal and illegal cyber activity
- Encouraging individuals to make informed choices in their use of technology
- Increasing awareness of the Computer Misuse Act 1990
- Promoting positive, legal cyber opportunities
