Safeguarding
Safeguarding is the 'golden thread' that runs through every aspect of our school. Here you will find statutory policies and additional information around Safeguarding.
The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Sarah Hudson, Headteacher. The Deputy Safeguarding Leads are Lindsey Guest, our Deputy Headteacher and Year 2 class teacher, Rhalina Kershaw, our Year 6 class teacher and SENDCO, and Jane Harrod, our Positive Play lead. The Designated Safeguarding governor is Chris Orridge. Safeguarding at Darley Dale Primary School is everybody's responsibility. All staff and governors understand their responsibilities and have annual Safeguarding training. This also includes Online Safety and PREVENT (identifying extremism) training. If you need to contact any of the named Safeguarding Leads, please either phone school or email safeguarding@darleydale.derbyshire.sch.uk. Safeguarding emails will be checked daily, including at weekends and in school holidays, by one of our Safeguarding Leads. If you have an urgent Safeguarding concern out of school hours / in the school holidays, please scroll down to 'School Documents' > 'External Safeguarding Information' for important contact details.

Early Help / Early Help Assessments
The Early Help Assessment (EHA) is a standard assessment used by all practitioners working with children, young people and their families or carers. The aim is to provide the right support at an early stage before the need increases.
EHA involves listening and working closely with a child, family or young person to find out what help is needed and what is working well in their lives and can be shared between services.
EHA is used nationally and is a key part of working together to support families.
At Darley Dale Primary, if we feel that a child requires Early Help, we will discuss this with parents and, together if possible, write a referral to be sent to the Highfields Cluster Student and Family Support Team. If the referral is successful, a member of the support team will contact parents and work closely with children, families and school to get the best possible support for the child and family.
Please follow the link below to find out more information regarding Early Help and Early Help Assessments.

As part of our safeguarding practices, the Single Central Record is reviewed by the Headteacher and Chair of Governors with the results shared with Darley Dale Primary School governors.
