This term, Year 5 have taken part in a unique project to promote tolerance, diversity and equality facilitated by the Global Education organisation. The children have linked up with St Giles School in Derby and we spent the day at Pride Park Stadium taking part in a range of activities that promote British Values and a sense of community. For many this was a challenging day, as the children were asked to step outside their comfort zones and meet new people who had very different learning needs and social skills to their own. The day showed how we are all different yet very much the same! Some new friendships were made and many hurdles were overcome. Both schools will visit each other again over the coming school year and we are confident that our children will grow and flourish within such an exciting project.
