BBC bitesizeDuring the first lockdown, BBC bitesize is providing daily online lessons to support children whilst they are at home. Hopefully this will be offered again this time! As is often (frustratingly) the case, this only goes down as far as Year 1. However there may be bits that are suitable if you are looking for something extra to do.
Sticky Kids Warm Up on SpotifyAt school, we often use sticky kids dance with our reception class for our PE lessons. Mrs. Chapman had a CD, but to my delight I found that it was available on spotify. The children know the 'Sticky Kids Warm Up' quite well, bu there are others you can try too! Just type sticky kids into the spotify search engine.
Oxford OwlLots of online reading resources on this website! Follow the link for Oxford Owl for home. Scroll down to 'reading schools and levels'. Prior to closure most children were reading 'pink' books. If you need more of a challenge, try a red book. Lots of other resources also available on this website.
DK find outA fantastic website full of interesting things for your children to find out about. Dinosaurs, Space, Animals, History .........all things things that children generally find facinating. You might recognise the DK logo, they publish lots of great kids non-fiction books. Have fun exploring with your little ones.
Andy's Dinosaur AdventuresOne of the slightly older 'Andy' shows. I am sure a lot of you will have come across it, but it is not on cbeebies as regularly as when my kids were little. You have to hunt it down on cbeebies iplayer now but well worth a watch. Grab 20 minutes without feeling guilty knowing that they are watching something educational!
The Imagination TreeMy absolute fave website for play based learning activities you can do at home. I used ideas from this site a lot with a 3 year old Evelyn when I was on maternity leave. Lots of ideas for messy, malleable and creative play, but also ideas for play based maths and english.
Let's all draw numbers songThis is a song we watch in school to help us learn correct number formation. As we sing we 'draw' the numbers in the air. This could be followed up with some number writing practice on a piece of paper.

NumberblocksA great number show for number recognition, counting and more!
AlphablocksAn absolutely brilliant phonics show. All sounds are pronounced correctly. Teaches children how to blend (put sounds together for reading). Get your child to join in with the alphablocks.
PhonicsThis website has lots of online games your child can play to practise their blending (reading) and segmenting (writing). We are currently working on phase 3 and have covered all of the alphabet plus 'ch' 'sh' 'th' and 'ng'. You may also wish to play phase 2 games for revision.
Phonics - saying your sounds correctlyIn phonics it is so vital that you pronounce each sound correctly, otherwise children will not be able to 'hear' the words. This you tube video is a brilliant demonstration of how to pronounce and use sounds properly to support your child with reading/writing.
