Congratulations Holly!

10th October 2019.

This morning the Year 4 team had the opportunity to celebrate the success of Holly. During a whole school assembly, Holly was presented with a £50 cheque for herself and £1000 for the school to purchase sports equipment. Holly entered a nation wide competition with the sticker company Panini to design a football shirt. Holly's design was selected as the winner from thousands of designs that were sent in to the company. Representatives from Panini came to the school and discussed the history of the company before awarding Holly with her prize. Well done Holly!

Comparing Landscapes: Road Trip USA.

This afternoon, the Year 4 children went out into our wonderful school grounds to think about our local landscape. We thought about the physical and human features of our local landscape. The children then went on to make comparisons between our local landscape and a chosen landscape from the USA.

USA Theme Day:

Wow what a start to our new school year! Today, the year 4 children have been exploring and discovering the many states within the United States of America. As part of our new topic 'Road Trip USA' the children took on the passport challenge and flew around the classroom visiting and gathering key information about the different states. The children then moved onto think about the different landscapes that can be found across the USA with a focus on skyscrapers. The children demonstrated fantastic team work skills when they had to build the tallest sky scraper using marshmallows, spaghetti, string and sellotape.
